Dr. Erik Hekkert has offered same-day CEREC crowns since 2003, years before most practices had adopted the technology, and he’s one of the few general dentists in the area who also places implants himself. Patients never get handed off to a specialist mid-treatment.

Everyone was so wonderful. I have a lot of dental anxiety and a hair-trigger gag reflex and my hygienist, Pedro, made this the most pleasant dentist visit. He’s placed same-day CEREC crowns since 2003, and he’s one of the few general dentists in the area who also places dental implants himself.

We believe cost shouldn’t stand between you and the care you need. We offer several ways to pay for treatment: Sunbit and CareCredit financing (both offer promotional 0% interest on qualifying plans), an in-house membership plan for patients without dental insurance, and the ABS discount plan for cash-pay patients. Refer a friend to our office, and you’ll both receive a $50 account credit toward whitening, dental products, or treatment through our Share A Smile program.

Frequently Asked Questions about Dental Care in Jacksonville
How often should I visit the dentist?
Most patients do well with a cleaning and check-up every six months. If you have gum disease, ongoing dental work, or other concerns, we may recommend visiting more often, and we’ll explain why.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency?
Call our office right away at (904) 384-4391. We’ll walk you through what to do and get you in as soon as we can.
What payment options are available?

Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes. We’re in network with most major PPO plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, MetLife, and more. We don’t accept Medicaid, Medicare, or HMO plans, but if you have an out-of-network PPO plan, we can bill on your behalf.
How well does your teeth whitening procedure work?
With in-office Zoom whitening, most patients leave with teeth up to three shades whiter, and whitening continues for about two weeks afterward. We also offer take-home whitening syringes for patients who prefer to whiten gradually.
What's the difference between a same-day crown and a traditional crown?
With a same-day CEREC crown, we design and mill your crown in our office, so most back teeth are done in about two hours, in a single visit. Traditional crowns require a temporary while your permanent crown is made at an outside lab, which usually means a second visit two to three weeks later. For front teeth, we sometimes still use a lab to make sure the color matches your smile exactly.
Do you see children?
We see patients ages 12 and up. For younger children, we’re happy to recommend a pediatric dentist better equipped for their needs.
